Content: At the archaeological site of the Temple of Hera in Ancient Olympia, Greece, the flame for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games was successfully ignited using a parabolic mirror to concentrate sunlight. This ceremony officially marks the final sprint towards the Paris 2024 Olympics. The first torchbearer was Greek rower and Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold medalist, Stefanos Ntouskos. The flame will undertake an 11-day relay across Greece, arriving at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens on April 26, where it will be formally handed over to the Paris 2024 Organising Committee. Subsequently, the flame will board the famous three-masted ship "Belem" to cross the Mediterranean Sea, arriving at the Old Port of Marseille, France, on May 8. It will then begin its relay across mainland France and its overseas territories, culminating in its ignition during the opening ceremony held on the River Seine on July 26.
